A sound factory capturing the life of cinema theatres, “Cinémas sur écoute” revolves around the creation of podcasts and other sound-based content inspired by the participating cinemas and their programmes.

By experimenting with new forms of audio listening in cinema theatres, the project try to renew the cinema experience and address the challenges of audience development.

Through a series of residencies, different sound artists spend time in each of the participating theatres to create a one-off “feature-length” sound work that reflects the life of the cinema, in collaboration with Narrason Studio, which specializes in the creation of narrative podcasts. The contents are created by the cinemas themselves and therefore adapted to their use.

The podcasts are available free of charge to all cinemas so that they can use them, share them and broadcast them, allowing European cinema to spread more widely.
